I'm not the father, now what?

Has a DNA test proved you are NOT the father? You still have rights. Under the new Texas Family Code laws, if a DNA test proves you are not the father then you do NOT have to pay child support. BUT you still may have visitation rights with the child if you have previously established a relationship with the child. The law now distinguishes that it is in the best interest of the child to continue the relationship with the "father" but not imposing the responsibilities and duties onto a man who was likely duped into believing he was the father.
